Sana Malik

Data Scientist

BigData Experience Lab, San Jose

Sana is a data scientist in the Systems Technology Lab at Adobe Research. Her research interests are information visualization, visual analytics, and event sequence analytics. She builds tools to help analysts and data scientists find insights from their data through interactive interfaces combined with statistics and machine learning.

Sana completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Maryland in 2016 with Ben Shneiderman and Catherine Plaisant. Her thesis focused on a developing a visual analytics system for comparing cohorts of event sequence through high-volume hypothesis testing. She completed her B.S. in Computer Science at the University of Delaware in 2011. Her undergraduate thesis on parsing and tagging natural language Java method names was advised by Lori Pollock and Vijay K. Shanker.

For details about her current projects, visit her personal website.
