Dr. Sunav Choudhary is a senior scientist at Adobe Research. His current research interests cover two broad areas with applications to Adobe’s Digital Experience Business – (a) User Modeling and Analytics: Sparse & Generative Modeling, Optimization, and (b) Systems for Machine Learning: Federated Learning, Scheduling.
His research projects on user modeling have been showcased at Adobe Summit Sneaks [Perfect Path, Geo-based audience targeting]. His work on sparse modeling has resulted in an enabling technology for popular generative AI features like Customer Journey Analytics with Intelligent Captions (featured in CMSWire). His research on federated personalization has been cited 750+ times, with 70+ highly influential citations, and was featured in Dev Code F1.
Sunav completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California in 2016. His thesis analyzed sparse structures in signal processing inverse problems and won the USC Center for Applied Mathematical Sciences Graduate Student Prize for Excellence in Research with a substantial mathematical component [Link]. He received his B.Tech. degree in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 2010.
He regularly serves on the program committee for multiple AI conferences (AAAI, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, KDD, ECML) and advises graduate students. His research has resulted in 30+ published papers and granted patents that are highly cited. Select publications are mentioned below, while Google Scholar provides a full enumeration.
